Australia’s 2023 Economic and Social Outlook Conference begins
The Economic and Social Outlook Conference (ESOC) will begin today at Melbourne.
The ESOC is a national forum which presents a platform for Australian public officials and other prominent persons to discuss real-life economic and social policy problems that are surfacing both globally and in Australia. This year’s theme, ‘Bold Ideas for a Defining Decade,’ is focused on policy and economic innovation that can help boost Australian prosperity and further ensure its position in the developing global arena within the next ten years.
A major segment of today’s conference will focus on the global transition to renewable and green energy, as the attendees will discuss the necessary steps Australia must take for full green conversion. Australia aims to become a global leader in renewable energy during the short-to medium-term. Moving forward, the Australian government will allocate more than half a billion dollars towards renewable energy projects. Australia’s climate goals are highly likely to be achieved, as the current administration prioritizes gradual abandonment of non-renewable energy statewide to reach its goal of net zero emission by 2045.
