Armenian finance and state delegation to conclude visit to Indonesia
Armenian Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan will conclude his visit to Indonesia today.
Poghosyan’s delegation consisted of Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan and revenue committee Head of International Cooperation Harutyun Azgaldyan. The purpose of the visit was to participate in a high-level meeting on “Supporting recovery through increased tax transparency.” The delegation travelled on instructions from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and is expected to deliver a report to him within three days of their return to Armenia. The two countries have been increasing their cooperation across a number of sectors, including IT and free trade since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992.
Expect that the report will detail methods for reducing corruption by way of increased tax transparency. Expect also that the visit will serve to strengthen Indonesia-Armenia relations and lay the foundation for an advisory delegation from Indonesia to visit Armenia to assist in tax reforms, given its own experiences in dealing with corruption.
