Strategic dialogue EU Conversations 2025 to begin

EU Conversations 2025: Europe for the New Age will take place in Latvia on April 4th .
This year’s event is being held in close collaboration with both regional and international partners, and will feature participation from senior officials representing various European states and institutions. The conference aims to convene Europe’s leading voices from the policy, academic, and expert communities to reflect on the EU’s evolving role in today’s shifting geopolitical environment. Key topics on the agenda include the bloc’s foreign and security policy, the development of clean energy industries, and strategies to enhance civilian protection.
In the short term, the event is expected to generate meaningful discussion on how the EU can adapt to the rapidly shifting international order. However, as a forum designed primarily to facilitate dialogue rather than policymaking, its real-world impact will likely be limited. Internal divisions and slow decision-making within EU institutions remain key constraints. In the long run, the conference will likely continue to serve as a platform for European partners to exchange ideas, rather than a venue for driving concrete strategic outcomes.
